Scoot, a subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, secures third place in AirlineRatings.com’s 2026 ranking of the world’s safest low-cost carriers, behind HK Express and Jetstar Australia.
Scoot, the budget airline under the Singapore Airlines Group, has been ranked third in AirlineRatings.com’s list of the world’s safest low-cost airlines for 2026. The airline earned its spot after Hong Kong’s HK Express and Australia’s Jetstar, both of which ranked higher in the prestigious safety list.
The safety ranking was based on several key factors, including the airline’s flight incident record, fleet age, fleet size, and compliance with international aviation standards set by recognized global organizations such as the International Air Transport Association (IATA). Airlines with fewer than 25 aircraft were excluded from the evaluation.
Scoot, which currently flies to over 20 destinations across Asia and Australia, has expanded its route network in recent months with new direct flights to popular tourist destinations in Thailand and Vietnam. This growth in service, combined with its safety performance, solidifies Scoot as a reliable choice for budget-conscious travelers in the region.
